A new Game of Power for you

A new Game of Power for you

Power is Power [It’s a trick and a game]

The Game of Power is part of what I call The Great Masquerade. The great fantasy and game that our brain is pretending to play. It feels so real and yet … you know… It’s all in The Matrix 😉

Power resides where men believe it resides, it’s a trick, a shadow on the wall, and a very small man can cast a very large shadow

Power resides where men believe it resides, it’s a trick, a shadow on the wall, and a very small man can cast a very large shadow

Varys: “Power is a curious thing, my lord. Are you fond of riddles?”
Tyrion: “Why? Am I about to hear one?”
V: “Three great men sit in a room, a king, a priest and the rich man. Between them stands a common sellsword. Each great man bids the sellsword kill the other two. Who lives? Who dies?”
T: “Depends on the sellsword”
V: “Does it? He’s not the crown, no gold, no favor with the gods”
T: “He’s got the sword, the power of life and death”
V: “But if the swordsman’s who rule, why do we pretend kings hold all the power? When Ned Stark lost his head, who was truly responsible: Joffrey, the executioner, or something else?”
T: “I have decided I don’t like riddles”
V: “Power resides where men believe it resides, it’s a trick, a shadow on the wall, and a very small man can cast a very large shadow”
— Game of Thrones

Galaxy of power [How powerful is our sun?]

In our Galaxy there are many powerful forces. Gravity being the most fascinating one. It’s reach seems endless. Yet even the biggest star although impressive at first look. It exerts a tremendous pull in it’s own solar system. And yet it is humble when it comes to the forces that holds a galaxy together. Like a big collaborative effort all pulling on each other.

“That was about knowledge and the stakes were nothing. This is about power and the stakes are everything” — Jessica, Suits

Knowledge is Power! No Power is Power!

In the Realm of the living. Power has a whole different meaning. The greatest of Civilizations stretches it’s claws over a small realm on small window of time. Yet their powers also seems limitless. What is power then? We can’t touch, see or smell it. Or can we?

Power
Born out of Nature
Coveted by Man
Wars rage on and victors are crowned
But True Power can never be lost or won
True Power comes from within

Power can be hoarded by the mighty or stolen form the innocent.
Power provides the ability to choose, but has a proclivity for corruption
The use of Power is not to be taken lightly
For it is never without consequence — Emily Thorne, Revenge

Game of Power [Power will take you everywhere]

Here on Earth power is a game many play. And have been playing since the Dawn of man. Like in Game of Thrones it has always been a privileged few throughout history who has been playing this game. For most humans the game never existed or only on small level within the tribe. Even if some would have been playing it within a tribe. Most of the game would have been about working together with the tribe.

In modern time on a global scale the game has also been out of grasp and out reach of the common man. Even the illusion of power that many experience in the modern democracy is nothing of what is coming to Earth now. Or must come if we are to prevail.

“Fairplay had about as much currency as the toothfairy.
See, the thing is, one necessary evil leads to another ’til one day you can’t differentiate between what’s necessary and what’s merely expedient. And when that happens, you’re done. You’re a monster.” — Mayor Tom Kane, Boss

Global Solution Networks

Listening to Don Tapscott on the RSA today and his talk about Solving the World’s Problems Differently I and many more now are beginning to grasp new world. A world where everyone can play a game of power. A Game for a global human future.

“You have a power Cardinal Borgia – a strength, a destiny that even you don’t recognize .. for good or for ill but I have no doubt it will be used, and the whole of Italy will be changed by it ” — Ursula, The Borgias

The Nature of power [The Myth of Rationality]

Yet everything can swing in the wrong direction. As the “MEN” in power today wont let it slip lightly. Such is the seduction and corruption of power. Human nature must be balanced. We are not living in a rational time as some of may believe. It’s a trap!

“Choosing money over power is a mistake almost everyone makes. Money is the big mansion in Sarasota that starts falling apart after ten years. Power is that old stone building that stands for centuries. I cannot respect someone who does not see the difference” — Francis Underwood, House of Cards

As we learn more about our own nature we can embark on a journey into our own soul. To play this new game of Power. Just like the stars in our Galaxy we can play this as collaborative game where everyone wins. Where we all pull together in the same direction. Just imagine what force we can amass when we pull together.

Why we Sin and Lie #Blogg100

#080 [LXXX]
We are all Sinners and Liars

Well the Pope is right. We are all sinners.

What would make us to cheat less?

According to Dan Ariely and his research we lie all the time. In fact, as I said before. We can never tell the truth. Just a mere Truthy Tale. But what would make want to tell a story as truth worthy as possible? What would make us  to cheat less?

Anything that reminds of our moral code. Like reciting the ten commandments. Religion got a hang of this many thousands of years ago. So when ever we get put in a position to make a decision where we could cheat and lie we must be reminded of something that stands for our morality.

Yo can see or listen to his latest talk before the RSA: Free beer: The truth about dishonesty. Or see the even shorter RSA Animate version. (Both are found at the bottom.)

If you want more you can Listen to or read his latest book The (Honest) Truth about Dishonesty: How We Lie to Everyone – Especially Ourselves.

What increase and decrease honesty

What can The Borgias teach us?

Sinners or Saints?

Sinners or Saints?

Another Pope sinner of rank is Rodrigo Lanzol Borgia masterfully portrayed by Jeremy Irons in the TV-Series The Borgias. Power corrupts and we must recognize that our most powerful decision makers are in dire need of moral guidance.

Kick-Ass Obama

AS I finish this up I’m listening to Obama doing The State of the Union. I’m happy to hear that he intends to spend more in Science and Research. Especially to stop Climate Change. More about this later in the week.
