Matt Damon – Our Future Quest

Matt Damon – Our Future Quest

Matt Damon is favorite actor of mine, as to may others, as will be come clear in a few seconds. Not only has he done some awesome roles in some awesome movies like Good Will Hunting, Rounders, The Informant and The Martian. He is also awesome in real life, where he uses his powers to do good in the world. So when I came across this commencement address at MIT this year 2016 my mind was blow away, how he articulated our challenges and our opportunities to solve them.

matt-damon

Movie Magic!

Movies and storytelling is more important than you may think. I would go as far as to say that they are the number one source of shaping our future here on Spaceship Earth. I have talked a lot about the power of storytelling before: The Storytelling Animal.

This is of course one of the reasons we look up to people like Matt. Also like someone said in the comment to the speech: Matt is far better at leading us into the future than what traditional leaders and politicians are. And still he makes it very clear that he isn’t running for office. No one sane person wants to dedicate their entire life into “gaming” that old system.

Could we then use movies and science fiction to show and tell people about alternative ways to lead and run Spaceship Earth? I most definitely think so.

The Simulation Argument

Do we live in a simulation or is the entire universe a simulation?

It’s topic that has come up several times this year. Elon Musk mentioned it and here Matt Damon refers to a fascinating conversation on the topic with Neil deGrasse Tyson this spring that I have written about before too: #HackTheFuture.

I also just read this article on BBC on it today: We might live in a computer program, but it may not matter.

Be The Best You

Here is Matt’s take on it:

There is a possibility we live in The Matrix.
That our entire universe is a simulation. What to do then?
Do really interesting things so the simulators don’t shut you down.
What if the universe isn’t a simulation?
Either way … What we do matters … What we do affects the outcome.
Because this world, real or imagined, has some problems that we need to drop everything to solve.

And by that he means what I’m doing and talk so warmly about. We have to be interesting. To be the best version of ourselves. Constantly levelling up ourselves through curiosity, the right attitude and lifelong learning.

By Hacking our own future!

matrix-code

Turn Towards The Problems You See

Turn Towards the problems you see and look them in the eye.

What are you going to do about them?

Look at the world and see it for what it is.

Hack The Future!

We don’t have all the answers. And that is ok. It is a lifelong quest to find new insights and answers.
Judge me by how good my good ideas are, not how bad my bad ideas are.
You got to suit up in your armour. You to be ready to sound like a total fool.
Not having an answer isn’t an embarrassment, it’s an opportunity.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Continue to listen and do lifelong learning.
Keep listening.
The world needs our ideas, good and bad.
Listen to online lectures and pods. Just keep listing to every part of society.
Democracy demands compromise even when you are 100% right.

Not ever problem has tech solution. We can’t science the shit out of every situation.

There is more at stake today than in any story ever told.
And how lucky we are the we are here and we are us.
Turn towards the problem of your choosing. Drop everything and solve it 🙂

– Matt Damon

So Simulation or not, there is now question what we have to do …

I invite you to join me in this quest to build a better future. There are so many quest we can go and solve together. And many of them are urgent. They are critical if we as humans are going to continue to live here on our Spaceship. Or else we get off at the next stop. And it’s cold and lonely out in space away from our beloved former home.

I choose to believe that the universe loves me and that we live in some kind of Matrix, where I can decide my own future and how I act and what I do. My own form of Free Will 🙂

Transformium [The Blockbuster Myth]

Trans … Wait for it … form.
If we experiment with the thought, that we can play the present in either Slow-motion or in Fast-forward. We can then see the future being created at a comprehensible speed. To see Time, Transforming the world around us in various rates. If reality is a movie, then we understand that for every new frame to come, we set the stage in the current frame, for the transformation to take shape. I will now give you my thoughts on how a crappy movie has my mind spinning and why we need to make better more thoughtful movies. They are never ever just dumb entertainment. Especially not the big blockbuster action flicks that so many of us, pass of as pure brain-dead entertainment. This is the ones to look out for. They go right into our emotional core.

If you want to burrow a message into a human mind. Work it into a story — Jonathan Gottschall, The Storytelling Animal

Science Fiction Storytelling [The Blockbuster Myth]

Transformers … I know what you think. It’s the brain-dead action movie by Michael Bay with giant robots from outer space. Well I went to see it tonight. Because it has giant robots. And it’s a Sci-Fi movie where the future of humankind on Planet Earth is at stake. Was it a mistake? Or did I have free will in making the choose to see it? Find out below.

If you read my thoughts from last summer about what I think of blockbuster sci-fi action you know what I think of Transformers: Age of Extinction. To sum it for you here it is:

What we can Imagine –> We can Build

We must use Storytelling and Science Fiction to envision a new Future. And to raise important question for an ongoing dialog about the future and where we are going. We should draw parallels to our past and present to give us better picture of who we are and how we build our society. Why do we go forward? If we want to change the present into a better world tomorrow, then Epic Storytelling is the Ultimate tool to communicate a common vision of that future. Things we must invent and obstacles we must overcome. Everything is made up and we make up the future, together.

So what is Good Epic Blockbuster Movies to me? Here are some of my favourites: The Matrix, Avatar, Avengers, Cloud Atlas, Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Transformers

Transformers – Age of Extinction

Transformium [Way Shap:ier Than Adamantium]

With that in mind. What did I think of Transformers? It’s a mess of illogical storytelling with very little insight why we should care about the future of the human race. The main characters are constantly concerned with each others wellbeing and maintaining silly Movie-American family values. All the while countless human lives are lost without a single though or comment.

And “The Age of Extinction“? What’s up with that? Yes the threat to humanity is very real, as in so many movies before this one. And yet most people doesn’t seem to get it. They do very little to act on it. If your going to die, doing anything else than prevent it from happening seems a little bit out of character. Well maybe it’s just really they way we treat Earth today in the real world. Nobody can grasp how bad we are treating it and we always think that someone else is doing something about it.

Can we use movies like this, to get us aware of the fact that we need to do something to save our “World” together?

Then there is the magical metal Transformium. Sci-Fi movies should stay away from trying to explain what is clearly magic, by trying to explain it as science. (I’m locking at you Midi-chlorians). Some things we humans can just accept as a magical setting for raising some interesting philosophical questions. It’s what Sci-Fi does best. Stop trying to explain things like the Metal Transformium by making it a metal that flies around as little cubes just to form a robot. If this was the case, they could just dissolve whenever they were hit or shot at. Just like the liquid Metal Demon in T2. If they where a calculating machine and where to use this power to the extent of their abilities, it wouldn’t be a match at all. Make better technical plots where it fills a purpose to the story and the core of the message. Otherwise leave it be. On a second note. The name Transformium is used as a joke in the movie and it is called this with full intent of irony.

Cade Yeager: [to Joshua] You’re an inventor like me, so I know you have a conscience. Don’t let your creation take control.
Joshua Joyce: I created Galvatron, I control him!
Cade Yeager: No, he’s been controlling you!

Then there is opening act with Mark Wahlberg as a broke Inventor, Maker och Tinkerer. Just like me, he has an unyielding belief that his breakthrough is just around the corner. I’m still waiting for mine as a Holistic Thinking Ninja. So this is the best part that actually resonates with me. And he is called Yeager which is an obvious flirt with the Jaeger Program in Pacific Rim which is much better movie 🙂

And what about the moral of the story?

There some few bright spots. Like when Joshua Joyce, the head of KSI, says that his intent for the company was never to be evil and he tries to make amends in the end. Otherwise there is nothing about what almost every movie now forgets to mention or portray. The transformation of our society into the Network Society. They always fail to show, how we can use the internet and social media for good. With Sustainability, Collaboration, Transparency and Community at the core of global problem solving. The hero isn’t alone anymore. They have a whole team available at the tip of their fingers through a smart phone. When will we see the first Blockbuster movie to fully portray what this new paradigm shift means for The World?

Do You Have a Teflon Brain?
[What Does Movies Teach You?]

Action movies are never just stupid entertainment where you turn your brain off. No can do. The brain doesn’t come with an off-switch and it are constantly affected by what it experience and the stories that it craves for so much. And everything has a message. If you can’t spot it, it’s just cleverly or unthoughtfully hidden from plain sight within the story. And the wrong message does actually affect us in the wrong way. I don’t give me any crap about that you are some kind of superhuman with a Teflon Brain. Like an On/Off switch that you can flip when you want to become invulnerable to the world around you. Your brain doesn’t work that way. Most of the cognitive work of your brain is hidden from the conscious you. The one part of your brain, that is actually a story told by your brain for you, to live through.

Engage with the stories around you on whole new conscious way and a new world will open up for you. If you want to know more check out Jonathan Gottschall’s book The Storytelling Animal.

“We are critical and skeptical. But when we are absorbed in a story, we drop our intellectual guard” — Jonathan Gottschall

Should we then stop going to see stupid movies by the kinds of Michael Bay? The world surly doesn’t think so. As Transformers are breaking all kinds of records just in its first week. What should we do then to stop this madness? Voting with our dollars sure doesn’t work. Reflecting in groups? Hope for the Wachowskis to save us? Give me your thoughts in the comments below.

How can we bust the “Blockbuster Myth”, that I would like to call it?

What Can You Transform? [The World of Tomorrow]

How can I use this movie to further my own thoughts? Well Transformium is actually a good name for us to use in another context. That we create our own tomorrow by transforming our present Space-time Continuum. We have this magic super power in our hands. Just yesterday I posted some questions about how we create Tomorrow that I call The World of Tomorrow.

World of Tomorrow

By telling stories of your own tomorrow you can actually change the way you act, think and behave today. Remember that Tomorrow is just a fantasy in your mind.

“The past, like the future, does not really exist. They are both fantasies created in our minds. The future is a probabilistic simulation we run in our heads in order to help shape the world we want to live in. The past, unlike the future, has actually happened. But the past, as represented in our minds, is a mental simulation, too. Our memories are not precise records of what actually happened. They are reconstructions of what happened, and many of the details – small and large – are unreliable. Memory isn’t outright fiction; it is merely a fictionalisation” — Jonathan Gottschall, The Storytelling Animal

Go forth and tell better stories of a Tomorrow that you want to live in!

Be a Social Superhero [Solve our life’s puzzles together]

Today I have been at Social Media Club and a TweetUp in Gothenburg. Then I finished of by seeing Iron Man 3 with my best friend Tom.

The Social Media Club in Gothenburg is driven by @MikuMaria and it’s a fantastic way to meet & greet social people and discuss interesting topics during the lunch hour. Everyone is exceedingly open and friendly just like at the Unconferences WebCoast and SSWC.

Build your personal brand online [Have a Strategy behind your actions]

The subject of today’s Social Media Club was How to use Social Media to get a new Job. It’s a very interesting subject as I am in need of new job my self. Moderator is Johannes Sundlo.

Some key points:

  • Set up a Strategy for what you want and can do.
  • Everything you do in Social Media. Especially in the public ones. Adds up to your personal brand online. The Story about you.
  • Staying on a job should be an active choice every day.
  • Be yourself. We are all humans.
  • Check out what your target job places are doing. Try to find common ground with them.
  • Contact your target personally by phone or direct contact.

Tweeeet, Meeeet and Haaaangout

After a very relaxing Energy Consultation and Massage at Energikällan, it was time for a TweetUp. A Tweetup is an event where people who speak on Twitter come together to meet in person. Usually it’s a very social event with people who really want to get together and chat about life in general or a specific subject that they have previously talked about online. Never pass up the chance to be social. This is how we build our new Network Society.

I have also been doing some Google Hangouts lately. This is great way to discuss an interesting subject online with people who you can’t meet in person with at the moment. It can be done at home with your favorite device or on the move somewhere with a decent internet connection. Video can be turned of if the bandwidth is too low. I do a regular Hangout with Johan Lange where we check in about how our life plans are going towards a “Leaner” tomorrow 🙂

Try to find others online that you want to talk to and invite them to join a Hangout.

IRON-MAN-3

Weld me together [All my parts must interconnect]

The evening finale took place in Never Never Land. The latest of Marvel’s movies is Iron Man 3. As you can tell from my blog I am a big Marvel Fan. The Avengers was my favorite Movie from 2012 and I’m a big fan of Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man. So I really had my hopes up for this movie. Tony Stark represents the Super Maker and Tinkerer we all look up to, part of him based on Elon Musk. It is far from a perfect Movie, but it does provide some thoughts about pursuing a True Purpose in life.

Find an Honorable path and stay True to it’s Purpose

Solve our life’s puzzles together [No one is alone anymore]

Life is a puzzle. I need you to put my pieces together and I will help you solve your puzzle. We don’t have to go through life’s journey alone. Start hooking up online in Social Media. Create places like Tweetups and Hangouts where you can meet and discuss life’s challenges and opportunities together. No one is alone anymore.

Let’s be Social Superheroes!

What Survival Skills Do You Got? [Can We Adapt to a Ruined World?]

Tonight I have been at the season finale of Doc Lounge here in Varberg. This is concept where you mingle together in a lounge with bar and then watch a documentary together. This time they where showing the Norwegian documentary North of the Sun. Here you can see a 6 seconds Vine of the event.

North_of_the_Sun

When does change become the new Normal? [What is Normal?]

Here is is part of one of my favorite quotes from the book Hogfather by Terry Pratchett

STARS EXPLODE, WORLDS COLLIDE, THERE’S HARDLY ANYWHERE IN THE UNIVERSE WHERE HUMANS CAN LIVE WITHOUT BEING FROZEN OR FRIED, AND YET YOU BELIEVE THAT A … BED IS A NORMAL THING. IT IS THE MOST AMAZING TALENT. — DEATH, Hogfather

The Movie North of the Sun is about making a decision about living under extreme circumstances to the point where it almost becomes Normal. It’s like Terry says. We have this amazing talent to adapt. To think of and see things as normal. I read somewhere that it takes about 3 months to make something a new Normal.

With this in mind could you step away from your house and your possessions and never look back? What would it take?

These Surfers in the Movie did it. And we maybe will have to do some day too.

The Blue Ocean Planet [Lets go Blue]

In Star Wars, our planet would be designated not as a desert nor as a forest planet, but as a water planet. In media we are constantly label things that is good for the environment as Green when we instead should label things as Blue. Lets go Blue!

In North of The Sun they spend their winter picking 3 ton of plastics of the beach. We have filled our oceans with it and that is just a small part of it. We are spewing out chemicals like never before. And the rate is going up not down. You would think that in the year 2013 we where on our way to make Earth a better place to live at. Not so. Our Homeworld is getting more toxic for each day. Yet stuff like this doesn’t make the daily news like it should. If the oceans go…. so does the test of us. No kidding.

There is new Documentary just hitting DVD now and that is the movie Planet Ocean and there is new  documentary showing on cinemas in Canada now called Revolution Movie. Both is about our destruction of our oceans. Se the Trailers below. They may contain spoilers… But there is really nothing to spoil.

Think of our Blue Planet as one big Generational Spaceship where we must make sure that is all working well for generations to come.

It’s not to late. We can build a new world with a new “Normal” way to live.

Blue Planet

It will take Change [And big change come about in 3 ways]

1. Catastrophe
2. Crusade
3. Many fast iterating steps

Our Road has come to an end and we must now take 1 or some of this 3 roads weather we like it or not. What route do you want to take?

Route 3 must begin today.
Route 2 we can take tomorrow after a good nights sleep.
And finally Route 1 is waiting just around the corner with a big knife in it’s hand.

Here you can read all about how we must think to change routes:

Is Oblivion our legacy? #Blogg100

#023 [XXIII]
Will we humans be able to put a dent in the Universe? [How far can we reach ourself?]

Tonight I have seen the premier of Oblivion the movie with Tom Cruise and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. This is the third good Science Fiction movie I have seen this year. The other 2 being Cloud Atlas and John Carter.

Oblivion_01

The movie is a visual fest. An amazing movie with sceneries to die for. The Plot is far from perfect but at least it doesn’t fall apart like so many other Sci-Fi movies of late. Times flies by fast as I sit stunned by the beautiful sunset and sunrise scenes in the Skytower. The Narration turns out a little cliche. When everything else falls human ingenuity will still drive us to maximize the best out of every situation. But not here. Dare to ask yourself some tougher questions please movie makers!

Where are the big questions?

Like all great Sci-Fi Movies it must ask some important questions. What we would we humans do to survive? Will we be united or will there still be fighting amongst us self over power and different ideas?

What legacy will we leave behind?

Will we fall into oblivion after we flourish? How long can we make the human civilization to last? These are question that this movie doesn’t dare to ask. We can just feel a hint of them under the surface. But still these are questions that we should be asking ourself.

Princesses of Earth [How will we fight over the last freshwater of Earth?]

Princess of Mars

Princess of Mars

I’ve put it off for a long time. Seeing the movie Princess of Mars or John Carter of Mars. Say what you want about all criticism the movie has gotten. For a late night Matinee of the silly old school Fairy tale type it is perfect. My just the right kind of cheese for my taste. And we get to see “Julius Caesar” and “Mark Anthony” from Rome playing the same kind of characters.

“Everyone’s cause is sacred”

“They didn’t name it Princess of Mars because they thought boys wouldn’t see it. Then they didn’t name it John Carter of Mars because girls wouldn’t/ see it with Mars in the title. So instead we got John Carter, which nobody saw. Smooth.”

Future commission

My thoughts go to process of of dying planet. Earlier this week a special “Future commission” on assignment from the Swedish Government presented their report on what the Future might look like and what to do about it… It has been called toothless to say the least. If we can’t bring ourself to take action now when we all can play nice and have no imminent disaster on our hands. What will happen when the opposite is true?

Princesses of the Future

I would like my little Princesses to become future Princesses of Planet Earth. At least in one of the many Tribes that will still live here.

To borrow some quotes from Jayce in League of Legends

“This is what the future looks like”
“I fight for a brighter tomorrow”

I will bring down the hammer and I will light our path

Oh and by the way. I have been to Mars. And the sites in the movie looks much more real in real life.

Game of Plots – House of Secrets [Plot me up]

This is part 8 (8) of Bro Tour USA where me Lord Sillion and my brother Fredrik visits New York and PAX East in Boston.

Bro Tour USA 2013

Bro Tour USA 2013

Back in New York

Last night we came back to New York after 3 days in Boston and PAX East. Real all about in my previous posts.

Olympus has Fallen… indeed…

What more to do in New York. Me and my brother are also big Movie and Tv-Series geeks so naturally we wanted to got and see a great movie in a big theater when we are here in the US. Unfortunately nothing good was showing so we made our hopes to the for us unknown Olympus has Fallen with Gerard, Morgan and Eckhart. It started out as a really cool movie. The sound is amazing with the new Dolby ETX. But halfway through the plot got so unbelievable that all suspension of disbelieve got thrown out of the “Oval Office Window”. It setts up a Narration about how things are done regarding military strategy. And then Stops doing it according to that Narration.  We started discussing and dissecting the plot in the movie theater. Why why why can’t they for the love of god just do this:

“Hey, Great to see you man.
Look we are doing Multi-Million-dollar movie that is going to be seen by millions of smart people.
Can’t you just spend an hour going through the script to see if we have some mayor plot holes?”

Let’s put our hope that Oblivion, which is Morgan Freeman’s next movie, will be a lot more worthy of him. But it was  fun to see it in New York as the whole theater was cheering as a bad guy bites the dust.

House of Secrets – Game of Plots

Back out out on the street we see this huge poster of the new TV-Series House of Cards.

House Of Cards

House Of Cards

And all the cabs driving around all have the Game of Thrones poster on them for the upcoming Season 3 premier on March 31.

As big TV-Series Geeks, my brother and I is seldom exited to go and see many movies any more. As so many of them have to many plot holes. We instead immerse our self with geek love into many of our favorite TV-Series. Like Game of Thrones, Revenge, Battlestar Galactica, Continuum, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Flash Forward, Rome, Vampire Diaries, Boss, The Walking Dead, Stargate Atlantis and The Borgias. There will we the commitment to a story worth put our StoryTelling Soul into. Although some of the has been canceled before they could tell their story to end out of sheer stupidness, many are aloud run free and bless us with their magic.

Storytelling magic is where we human lives. Let’s tell way more and meaningful stories to each other!

This is the End of Bro Tour 2013 with me and my Brother going to New York and PAX East in Boston. Oh and I’m going to miss the Milkshakes 🙂

Movie Magic [Super Teams FTW]

For me Movies is Magic. The best movies I have seen has made me come out from the movie theater High as a Kite jumping over benches and walls in the best parkour style. I can remember ever detail of coming out from an early screening of The Matrix in spring 1999. One of the best movies ever. Later that fall after seeing it 3 more times me and my brother hosted a Matrix party in honor. Giving birth to my Residual Self Image and the haircut I still have today.

As I write this I’m sitting and watching the Oscars. Although not unexpected. I notice that The best movie of 2012 does only have 1 nomination. I am a guilty Geek and a long time Marvel fan of course. So it’s no surprise that the movie I’m talking about is the masterpiece by Joss Whedon, The Avengers. It’s an outrage as it’s the top 3 grossing movie of all time following Avatar and Titanic.

For me The Avengers is about coming together as a Super Team. A Team of divers members with different view points. Who can take on an impossible task and come through.

The Avengers

Geek love

Some of my favorite movies are really odd ones like Spy Game. But in The Avenges I’m not alone. Judging by all the geek love it has gotten and all the millions of people who have gone and seen it more than once, including me.

Other favorite movies of 2012 is Cloud Atlas, A Royal Affair and The Intouchables.

Here you can see all my favorite movies on the Swedish site Filmtipset.

What is Movie Magic to you?

Cloud Atlas [Is your life a Drop in the Bucket?] #Blogg100

I have now seen Cloud Atlas several times and it is the best movie to come out in many years IMHO. The  Wachowskis did such great job not selling out to the false assumption that storytelling is just dumb entertainment. Read this Interview with them about it: The Wachowskis explain how Cloud Atlas unplugs people from the Matrix. Storytelling always has been and always will be at the heart of what it is to be human. And Cloud Atlas is a masterpiece in telling a fine story about what is important in life as I will discuss below.

Also check out why I think Storytelling is so important in my posts about Elysium and Pacific Rim

Do our choices define us? [Agency and Kindness]

So the big question this movie asks me is:

Do our choices define us?
Or are they just a rationalization of the mind who can do nothing but apply agency to everything?

Composing is a crusade. Sometimes you slay the dragon. Sometime it slays you

Composing is a crusade. Sometimes you slay the dragon. Sometime it slays you

Life Deeds

Batou

Batou

I’ll start with a quote from my favorite character in the movie Ghost in the Shell.

“That’s all it is: information. Even a simulated experience or a dream; simultaneous reality and fantasy. Any way you look at it, all the information that a person accumulates in a lifetime is just a drop in the bucket.” — Batou, Ghost in The Shell

This is the movie that inspired the Wachowski brothers the most when making The Matrix. So here we are moving our focus right back at the latest Wachowski movie: Cloud Atlas and one of the best quotes:

“Haskell Moore: There is a natural order to this world, and those who try to upend it do not fare well. This movement will never survive, if you join them you and your entire family will be shunned. At best you will exist at pariah to be spat at and beaten, at worse to be lynched or crucified. And for what, for what, no matter what you do it will never amount to anything more than a single drop in a limitless ocean.
Adam Ewing: What is an ocean but a multitude of drops?”

All the drops in this world

A far bigger pond of Drops. And yet we get the feeling that when moving together we can create the greatest of waves. As we can see in the next 2 quotes

“Dr. Henry Goose: Our lives and our choices, each encounter, suggest a new potential direction. Yesterday my life was headed in one direction. Today, it is headed in another. Fear, belief, love, phenomena that determined the course of our lives. These forces begin long before we are born and continue long after we perish. Yesterday, I believe I would have never have done what I did today. I feel like something important has happened to me. Is this possible?

“The nature of our immortal lives is in the consequences of our words and deeds, that go on and are pushing themselves throughout all time. Our lives are not our own, from womb to tomb, we’re bound to others. Past and present. And by each crime and every kindness, we birth our future.” — Sonmi-451

Your whole life is just a Story [From Womb to Tomb]

Weeeee. I just love this kind of Stories and what they carry with them to me 🙂
And why is it that so many movie critics and reviewers often seem to forget that it’s all about the Storytelling.
I blog more about the importance of storytelling in: Engage in Storytelling and This is Your Story. And that all your brain experiences of the world from “from womb to tomb” is just stories.

“Some say to believe in destiny is to dismiss the role of free will.
That Self-determination cannot prevail in the presence of fate.
When the Truth is, the only part of destiny we can control,
is the fate we choose for another.” — Emily Thorn, Revenge

Emily Thorne

Emily Thorne

I think that we must be kind to each others in our choices and in our actions. Kindness will ripple through the Networked society and just maybe, just maybe, it will conquer Greed and Corruption. At least it is a Crusade worth going on. An Epic Quest to be proud of.

Now you must continue to make your choices and tell your story. And remember that you do not make your choices nor tell your story alone. You do this together with others.

Are you on the right path towards your future? [Är du på rätt spår mot din egen framtid?]

If you like History and Movies go see Lincon.

Today I saw Lincon the movie in the cinema. This is the third movie about Lincon that I have seen in a short while. The other 2 are The Conspirator and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. None of these 3 movies are true. You can never retell the Truth. Just a mere truthy tale. Guess which one is most fictionalized? 😉

Never the less. They all had interesting things to tell me about history and what it means to be a “human” (Not a vampire) both then and now. They all made me think!

Other historical movies I have seen lately and recommend is A Royal Affair and The Raven.
[Andra historiska filmer som jag sett på sistone och kan rekommenderar är A Royal Affair och The Raven.]

I love this kind of storytelling that brings me back in time. It makes me think about the Future.

Today was also the RSA event The World Until Yesterday: What we can learn from traditional societies. For now you find info on Twitter until the event podcast is published. What I personally take away from it today is:

When building tomorrows society we must preserve our cultural past in a way that…  Fuses the best lessons from the Past with the values of Today. And then combines it with the best ideas from tomorrows Science Fiction thinking.

We must then tell the story about this tomorrows society. Using the best Storytellers today. So that all may believe it to be a possible. A goal for all humankind on Planet Earth.

Pecha Kucha night

Tonight also was Pecha Kucha Night in Gothenburg. I went there to be inspired for my own speech on thursday and meet one of my best new friends @MikuMaria.

2. Vad längtar jag efter för närvarande? [What do I long for at the moment?]

Be mindful about what is important for you

Take a moment  for yourself and sit quiet for 5 minutes and think about these 2 questions below. When you are done select all the text on this page to see my answers and compare them to yours. On a mobile device click this link.

[What does it mean for me to be rich for real?]
1. I want to feel close to my family and friends. I want to spend time with them and feel joy with them doing the things I love like dancing, exercise and playing games.

[What do I long for at the moment?]
2. I want to feel loved for who I am and for the tings I do for others. I want to spread my message about fellowship and community that I talk about in my blogs.
