Dreamhack Open and League of Legends at the same time [eSports is growing outside Korea]

Starcraft and League on the same time

Starcraft and League on the same time

Yesterday and today I have been watching Dreamhack Open Starcraft eSports on National Swedish Television. At the same time League Of Legends [LoL] Spring series have been running their finals both in Europe and North America. Today Sunday saw some epic matches with all matches being played both in Eu and NA. You can find all the Grand finals matches here:

Fnatic vs. Gambit Gaming – EU LCS finals Game 1, Game 2, Game 3, Game 4, Game 5

Team Solo Mid vs. Good Game University  – NA LCS Finals Game 1Game 2Game 3Game 4Game 5

The level of the play and the skill and engagement of the commentators have really step up this spring. They have really made it to an entertainment sport to watch and get exited about. BarCraft is really taking of here in Sweden and me and my brother are looking into having a LoL Bar where we show League Of Legends eSport.

League of Legends eSports [Are you a Player or Viewer?]

League of Legends Season 3

League of Legends Season 3

Tonight I have been watching some League of Legends eSports tonight. Saw 3 awesome games with Curse (CRS) vs Team Solo Mid (TSM), GGU vs CRS and CRS vs. Vulcan (VUL). Curse’s players VoyBoy is so great. Met him at the Curse Party at PAX East too and he is very friendly.

There 3 different Championship Series based on the Server Regions: North America, EU West and EU North & East. You can also vote on your favorite Allstar team on all 3 regions.

I are myself playing on the EU West Server.

eSport on the rise

There is allot of different games that are great for eSports out there. And the arena keeps getting bigger each year. Allot has happened since my Brother ran the eSports cafe Frontline Games in Halmstad several year ago.

eSports as an entertainment form is on the rise with things like BarCraft being organised all over the world for Starcraft and League Of Legends. It has long been the national sport of South Korea and are exploding in China right now. Even here in Sweden things are happening and DreamHack Winter last year was broadcasted live on Swedish national TV.

DreamHack Summer expands eSports

DreamHack Summer here in Sweden just announced the Official tournaments today. They are: League of Legends, Starcraft II Heart of the Swarm, Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, Heroes of Newerth. They are moving into a newly built arena that will host a total seating capacity of around 3500 people.

Will I See you there?
