Today I first listened to a very thoughtful talk with Hans Rosling on the Swedish radio show “Vinter in P1” and then saw the very inspiring clip with Mandy Patinkin on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert after first seeing the last and gripping episode of Homeland season 5.
Both Hans and Mandy talks about a more humanitarian way to see the world. That there is both good and evil inside of us and if we want good to win, we have to exercise that part of us. Like a muscle. In fact one of my favorite podcast > “The One You Feed” is on this whole subject.
“The line between good and evil runs through each one of us” – Mandy Patinkin
If we take all the earths resources, all the money and all the human endeavours that are spent on fear-mongering, weapons, hostility and destruction of our environment and instead used it for good, there would be more than enough to go around for all of us.
The more people who talks about it, the more our brain thinks it is important. And then more people will act on it. It is great that good people like Hans and Mandy talks about it. Together we can make new paradigm shift for all humans here on Spaceship Earth.
Here is some of content of the clip:
Everyone who causes the death of someone else and places themselves above the law and thinking that are god. No human being are god. It is essential that we stop this paradigm of violence”
Violence has never worked and an eye for an eye will never work.
We have to come up with a new paradigm
Why aren’t we taking that money that are used for bombs and making schools and hospitals and homes and opportunity.
There are a lot of people who defend bombs because they make them a lot of money.
Fear is a very healthy. Fear will keep you alive when your house is on fire.
It’s fear-mongering and hatred that has to stop.
Atomic bombs are still here more than ever before. But nobody is thinking about them anymore because humanity has taken over.
Exercise your humanity more than they have ever imagined.
Use your imagination on how you can make the world a better place. And bomb all this marginalized people with opportunity. If we can make the world good for those people I believe that people will stop thinking that the west is so evil.
